About Wood-N-Thingz
In 1976 I began my adventure as a custom home builder in Eastern Washington, building homes from the ground up, foundation to finish. Everything from concrete work, framing, drywall, fireplaces, custom cabinets and roofing. It was then that I developed a love of woodworking.
In 1986 I moved to Kitsap County and became a partner in Manitou Construction Company restoring boats, in addition to other projects. I did all the wood work, stem to stern. Including hatches, cabinets, swim boards and helms.
In 1991 I formed my own company, known as H&H Building and development. Many of my clients asked what the H&H stood for, and I explained it was named after Hodges & Hodges, a partnership with my brother. Most of the clients wives thought it should stand for "Happy Housewives" because they were overjoyed with the great kitchens we built!
In 1996 I was hired as foreman by Wickstrom Construction, while continuing to do custom wood work for a long list of satisfied clients. In 2008 while building a custom home for a local builder, he asked if I would be interested in building his cabinets. I explained that I would like to do all his wood work.
After finishing his home, he suggested I offer my talent and skill to more builders and homeowners. So here I am letting everyone know about Wood-n-Thingz !
